Headaches are common problems addressed by primary care physicians. They can be caused by muscle tension, contraction and relaxation of blood vessels in the head, or rarely, by diseases such as brain tumors or anuerisms. If you have family members with prior anuerisms (swollen arteries , in this case, in the skull) it is very important to mention this to your doctor. A variety of treatments are available including medications and nondrug therapy as well.
